There is so much to discover on your first journey into freediving, its not just about how to hold your breath longer and how to dive deeper.
Whether you wish to learn some new skills for Surfing, Spearfishing, Snorkelling, Underwater photography… What ever it is, this entry day into freediving is perfect for you. Breath & Water are at the centre of it all so lets dive in together.
You will walk away from this weekend with basic knowledge of how your body works under breathold, the signs and signals that we feel and where they come from, how equalisation works and techniques to help overcome your issues, how to properly perform a rescue and understanding what happens to the body when we black out and how different that is to drowning. Finally a safe land based guide on how to train our breathold and help you improve.
SATURDAY
DAY 1 – Classroom - Boss Outdoor Merimbula 8.30am - 11 am
Interactive and fun theory session learning how your body works under breath hold.
Discover breathing and mental techniques to help calm your mind.
Breatholds! lets put this new knowledge into practise on land and see our breatholds improve !
Discuss regular training tables and the path for safe progression such as apnea walks ! A method of training which you can do at any time such as the early morning dog walk which will help to quickly improve your breatholds
DAY 1 – The Ocean - From Merimbula to Eden TBA 12pm - 4pm
Hit the beach !!! Diving the local areas of the coast where we will help you to progress to depths of 6m
We use our freediving weighted line to help with your adaptation to pressure and new depths
Work through different equalisation methods and how to safely progress
Safety ! how to perform a rescue in the ocean
